1. Moving Waves is Focus' grand breakthrough album from ,hitting off with their huge hit 'Hocus Pocus'. Undoubtedly the weirdest top 10 song that ever hit the States, the song cemented Focus' stature in Pop/ Fusion circles. A killer riff by Jan Akkerman, at the time christened as one of the best guitar players in the world, backed up by thunderous rock drumming, sillyyodeling by flutist Thijs.

3. FOCUS Moving Waves ( UK first issue Blue Horizon label 6-track vinyl LP, including the full version of Hocus Pocus, plus Side 2, which is entirley devoted to Eruption, The picture sleeve has some light edgewear and the vinyl has a few light surface scuffs, but remains in excellent condition).

6. My biggest complaint with this, and most later Focus LP's, is the extreme diversity. Their mat'l cuts too wide a path, from totally over-the-top prog hard rock, with argueably manic vocals, to soft and delicate classical/folk. Those drawn to this album by the hit, will likely be a little disappointed overall. Grades - 1 A, 1 B+, 1 B-, and 2 C's.

7. May 24,  · The album contains a mixture of progressive rock, jazz, and classical elements. It is mostly instrumental and there are lengthy solos. I first bought this record in the early s and I loved it. It still sounds good. I grew up in Britain and Focus was a popular band in Moving Waves reached #2 in the UK Albums Chart and #8 in the U.S/5().
